Jim Salber is the Owner of The Sportsmans Repair Shop, having purchased it from Chuck Brod in 2017. When the shop was purchased in 2017 it had a solid reputation for reel repair and Minn Kota trolling motor service. Jim built on that reputation and expanded the business, widened the customer base and offered additional services. With Jim’s Information Technology (IT) experience, customer service, and rigging background it prepared Jim for the retail, repair, and rigging disciplines.

Soon after Jim purchased the business it started to grow, and more services were added. Customers came to us to ask what to buy for their boat and fishing requirements. That is when we started selling trolling motors and locators. With customer demand for expert installation the business and services continue to grow. With customers now having new marine electronics the Trade-in program was established. With being an Authorized Service Center for Minn Kota Motor the trade in motors were able to be fully tested and be prepared for the next owner. For us, there’s never a shortage of others who are looking to upgrade to what someone else has traded in without having to pay full retail.

At The Sportsmans Repair Shop we support what we sell. We analyze our manufacturers and vendors to provide products that can be serviced. Our technicians use the products they service or install. With knowledge of how they work on and off the water we can educate our customers before they purchase, recommend the product, install the product, and service the product if necessary.
